La Ruta Del Sabor (Route of Flavor) | October 4th – October 8th | The purpose of this event is to showcase the cuisines of different Latin American countries. Customers will be able to taste the various flavors from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Colombia and Mexico. There are 3 different routes that customers are able to try and just enjoy the food. It is really an opportunity to try different cuisines for an entire week. |
Jacksonville Women’s Business Center of the JAX Chamber Panel Discussion | October 6th | It is going to be a panel discussion in Spanish where you will get to hear from a retired Director of the SBA as well as three (3) successful business owners in Northeast Florida. The purpose of this event is to be able to allow them to provide feedback to members, non-members and community-at-large to learn how to open a successful business in the U.S. and to scale that specific business. |
Speaker Series with the Jacksonville Historical society | October 14th | Dr. Rebecca Dominguez-Karimi is an oral historian who is gathering information and meeting with Hispanic community members and leaders to quantify the impact and contributions of the Hispanic community in Northeast Florida. It is a phenomenal way to learn and understand how much difference the Hispanic community continues to grow in the area. |
Hispanic Festival, Let’s Celebrate/ Food, Live Music, and Dancing | October 15th | We will have an event at The Link to “Celebrate Who We Are”. It is an event where you can come out to enjoy networking and dance. There will be a LIVE band and foods of different cuisines from different restaurants of Latin America. This event will be at The Link, 425 Town Plaza Ave, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32081 |
Mobile Food Bank | October 16 | Our Mobile Food Bank event will be in partnership with Feeding Northeast Florida, Three Grains of Rice Missions and sponsored by the Jacksonville Jaguars. It will be open from 3 PM – 5 PM. If anyone is interested in volunteering, click here to sign up. We will also have a truck to provide vaccines for the flu and COVID-19. The event will be at Roca de Salvación, 9724 Arnold Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32246 |
SBA Federal Contracting Series | October 22nd & 23rd | The focus of this event is to certify Hispanic business owners to gain access to federal contracts in the area. It is free to the community so we welcome anyone interested in attending. Attendees will be able to meet representatives from various local agencies. Supported by the Latino American Builders Group. The event will be at The Link, 425 Town Plaza Ave, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32081 |
Annual Hispanic Heritage Gala & Achieving the Dream Scholarship Awards sponsored by the Jacksonville Jaguars | October 28th | This event will take place October 28th at the River Club from 6 PM – 10 PM. This is one of the chamber’s signature events as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and award deserving Hispanic students with scholarships to further their educational endeavors. In the past, the chamber has awarded 10 scholarships but this year, we are excited to award 12 scholarships! We will present the awards to the ATD recipients at this event. |
