Jacksonville SymphonyAs a proud member of the First Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Jacksonville Symphony seeks to reach all of North Florida through its music and performances. Whether it’s hosting entertainers such as the Mambo Kings, playing the score of “Raiders of the Lost Arc” with the film or presenting the classics such as Tchaikovsky, Mozart and Beethoven, there is something for everyone to love. This year’s expanded schedule includes more of everything – more Fidelity National Financial Pops performances, more Florida Blue Masterworks, more holiday presentations and a four concert series at Daily’s Place.

One of the unique popular programs that Music Director Courtney Lewis has brought to Jacksonville is Symphony in 60. It’s a great way to meet friends, enjoy a cocktail, hear the Symphony and visit with the musicians on stage after the performance. You can even take a selfie at the conductor’s podium which a conductor’s baton!

This season’s first Symphony in 60 program will be Thursday, October 19 – Czechmate. The doors open at 5:30 PM for happy hour and the concert, just an hour long, starts at 6:30 PM. During the presentation, Music Director Courtney Lewis will explain what to listen for in the music, and in addition to watching the Symphony on stage, there will be an overhead video screen to get a close-up look at the musicians as they make their magic. Czechmate will include Janáček’s Taras Bulba and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 6.

To show our appreciation for the members of the First Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Symphony is offering a special $25 ticket to Czechmate. To get the special price, which includes the Happy Hour, 60 minutes of music and After Party, visit jaxsymphony.org and use special code “FCHCC”.

So don’t miss out on the fun and join us for a social event at Jacoby Hall in the Times-Union Center of the Performing Arts.
