MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN
Hello everyone, I hope you are well.
I wanted to write you today and express what an amazing journey this last year has been for myself and the FCHCC team.
Thanks to a lot of hard work we have grown our chamber by almost forty percent! We have also maintained great relationships with major partners like Florida Blue, Publix, Chase, and Memorial Hospital just to name a few. We have done amazing work for our Puerto Rican and Mexican communities with the charitable donations that have been made in the wake of the major hurricanes and earthquake. I wanted to write everyone to say how proud I am to be part of such an amazing organization that has positively impacted so many lives. I appreciate the opportunity given to this team and myself, and I look forward to the outreach that we will continue to do. I appreciate all of you. Thank you, P.S. Electronic ballots for our 2018 Board of Director Elections are coming your way soon!
Rene U. Pulido, M.D.

For over 100 years, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens has aimed to inspire the discovery and appreciation of wildlife through innovative experiences in a caring environment. As a non-profit organization and premier resource for education, conservation, and recreation, we use our position in the community to educate and provide free field trips and teacher-led educational programs to over 110,000 children each year. In 2016, the Zoo reached a milestone of over 1,000,000 annual visitors and remains the First Coast's premier regional attraction. On Saturday, September 16, 2017, the Zoo hosted Fiesta del Jaguar, in celebration of Hispanic culture and conservation. Guests were treated to a taste of Latin American cuisine, live music, festive games, dancing, and educational programs. The Zoo's award-winning Range of the Jaguar exhibit, hosted educational information about the Zoo's conservation initiatives with the Central American 'Hicatee' River Turtle and the South American jaguar. The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens supports over 45 conservation initiatives both locally and globally. This year marks the second annual Fiesta del Jaguar event in partnership with the First Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, of which the Zoo is a proud member and partner.
