Who we are

We are the First Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Northeast Florida. Our mission is is to positively impact the regional economy by creating value, promoting and facilitating the success of Hispanic-owned businesses and by engaging the community at large.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: http://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

When you use our contact form, we collect (a) your name, (b) email address, (c) company name (if applicable, and (d) phone #. Information is kept in our database for one year and only used to reply back to you. We do not use your information for marketing purposes. Also, our contact form includes a captcha code and allows you to have a copy made of the email message you send to us.

Mail List Sign-up

We have your name and email address when you subscribe to receive our monthly newsletter and networking events invitations.
What do we do with your data? When you subscribe to our mail list, we use your name and email address to send you our monthly newsletter, events, and announcements to keep you updated with our chamber. Also, we use your email address to send you information on workshops from our partners that might be of interest to you. You are able to opt out at the bottom of every email we send. And your information is deleted immediately after opting out.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our members only site, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on our members only site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How we protect your data

We have encryption software on the website to protect data about our members and visitors and we do not share our distro lists. That means we don’t sell or give away contact information about our visitors.

What data breach procedures we have in place

We have internal reporting systems set up to protect visitors and members data. And our board and staff are alert and trained in data protection.
