Description

Decons Energy seeks a a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager with a deep understanding of one or more of the following industries: Electric Utilities, Energy Infrastructure, High Voltage, Architectural/Engineering (A/E), Electrical Contracting, or Electric Cooperatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving growth in the Florida region by identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, and helping to shape the strategic direction of the company in these sectors.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

Market Expansion & Business Strategy:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to expand the company’s footprint within the electric utilities, energy infrastructure, and related sectors.
  • Identify new markets, emerging trends, and opportunities for growth within the Florida region.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions that meet client needs and align with market demands.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers at electric utilities, energy infrastructure firms, high-voltage contractors, electric cooperatives, and relevant A/E firms.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for new and existing clients, ensuring the highest level of service and satisfaction.
  • Negotiate contracts, develop proposals, and present business cases to potential clients.

Networking & Industry Involvement:

  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to stay informed on industry trends, competition, and opportunities.
  • Represent the company as a subject matter expert in energy infrastructure, utilities, high-voltage systems, and electrical contracting.

Collaboration & Team Leadership:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and operations, to ensure seamless delivery of services to clients.
  • Provide leadership in client onboarding, project scoping, and delivery to meet both business and client goals.

Sales & Revenue Growth:

  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets by identifying, pursuing, and closing new business deals.
  • Develop and implement sales plans that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities, sales pipelines, and revenue growth for senior management.
Qualifications

Industry Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles within service or products providers for electric utilities, electric cooperatives, energy infrastructure, high-voltage projects, or working for architectural/engineering firm or electrical contracting company.

Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Florida energy market, including key players, regulatory landscape, and industry dynamics.

Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior level executives and decision-makers.

Technical Understanding: Familiarity with high-voltage systems, electrical grid infrastructure, or energy systems is highly desirable.

Sales Acumen: Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, closing deals, and driving revenue growth.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex solutions clearly and persuasively.

Skills
  • Experience with public and private sector clients, including electric utilities and cooperatives.
  • Understanding of energy policies, regulations, and incentives in Florida.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and a drive for continuous improvement.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus.
