Marketing Intern

JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting with event support and marketing activities during the spring semester, focusing on logistics and campaign support. The part-time role provides valuable experience in event planning, marketing tactics, and customer service via phone and email.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist with support and execution of the port's marketing events, including pre- and post-event marketing activities, on-site support for Jacksonville-based events, and event logistics activities.
- Support marketing campaigns by drafting content and tracking performance metrics.
- Provide administrative support, including managing event calendars, updating contact databases, and preparing marketing collateral.
DIRECT REPORTS
This position does not supervise employees.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Performs other administrative and related functions, as assigned and dictated by department needs.
- Maintains files for record retention programs, in accordance with the department, JAXPORT, and other applicable laws and regulations.
License/Certifications: N/A
Knowledge:
- Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Event planning experience a plus.
- Marketing communications writing experience a plus.
Skills Required:
- High level of professionalism and resourcefulness.
- Highly organized, strong analytical and research skills.
Travel: Minimal to none.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) during employment.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently remain in a stationary position.
- Frequently move, traverse inside office or on JAXPORT property to accomplish job duties.
- Frequently operate, use or handle equipment, tools, computers and other office machinery.
- Rarely/Never ascend, descend, work atop, traverse on ladders, equipment and buildings to perform maintenance and safety functions. Heights up to 200 feet.
- Rarely position self to move, to maintain or repair equipment on terminal or in office.
- Constantly detect, determine, identify, recognize, observe, inspect to read and use computers.
- Constantly detect, converse with, convey, exchange information with others via radio, telephone. Ability to listen to equipment to troubleshoot
- Frequently move, transport and position, material up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment or local travel for meetings or functions.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Academic Major Junior/Senior Undergraduate or Graduate in Marketing, Transportation & Logistics, or International Business required.
