August 16, 2016 – JACKSONVILLE, FL – The First Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (FCHCC) will host a panel of experts to provide an overview of the fiscal crisis in Puerto Rico. The business luncheon sponsored by Univision 18 Jacksonville will take place on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at the Epping Forest Yacht and Country Club, 1830 Epping Forest Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32217. The luncheon is from 11:30am – 1:30pm.
The business luncheon is open to FCHCC active members and non-members. Chad Dominicis, President and General Manager for Univision 18 Jacksonville, joins the event as moderator. This luncheon draws interests of what caused the fiscal crisis, the migration of Puerto Ricans to the mainland and the economic impact to the local economy, including trade and military.
FCHCC has invited a panel of incredible experts to speak on fiscal crisis which include:
William Ramos, the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs in the Office of the Secretary where he serves President Obama and the Department of Commerce Secretary promoting their policies, programs and initiatives with state and local elected officials as it relates to the 12 bureaus within the department.
Ricardo “Rick” Schiappacasse Director, Latin America Sales for JAXPORT, is responsible for strengthening relationships and attracting new cargo business between North Florida and Latin America. He is a veteran maritime professional with more than 35 years of industry experience, including 22 years with the Maryland Port Administration.
Dr. Fernando I. Rivera, PhD, an associate professor of sociology at the University of Central Florida. His research, interests and activities fall under staple areas of sociology, primarily the sociology of health/medical sociology, disasters, and race and ethnicity.
Raul Rosas a decorated U.S. Navy veteran and Executive Director of Lift A Vet, which advocates for all veterans in the Maryland area and Puerto Rico. He is also part of the Cyber Security Staff for the U.S. Department of Justice Computer Security Systems.
